Sunday, April 7, 2013, 3pm
In preparation for its fifteenth anniversary celebration, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company presented a program of premieres and reconstructions at the Abrons Arts Center’s Underground Theater in a one-performance only event, Sunday, April 7 at 3pm. The premieres included Narcissus, a solo for the choreographer, the duet And Echo, with Chloe Campbell, the duet And Aminias, with Jason Garcia Ignacioand the screening of Sisyphus, a collaborative film between video artist Stefanos Milkidis and Daniel. The reconstructions include 1999’s Volcano and 2002’s Shifting, “perhaps the most convincing unaffected tenderness I’ve seen in postmodern dance,” (Eva Yaa Asantewaa, The Village Voice).
