Explaining Dance To All seeks to educate a general public about what we do in dance education through an easy-to-use resource. This resource provides responses to common questions asked about dance, explains the many ways into the dance field; how a dance career is much broader than being a performer; and addresses the viability of sustainable dance careers and dance’s transferable skills.
Educating Parents, Funders, and Administrators, an exciting session at September 2023’s National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) annual conference held in Denver, had an abundant turnout and an engaged cross-section of interest from the membership. Since this time Daniel Gwirtzman has led a charge, with the support of a group of sixteen dynamic members, all contributing to the initiative. These members range from teachers at public schools, studios, and universities to administrators at arts organizations and colleges, current NDEO Board members to directors of dance companies.
At the NDEO conference, September 29, 2024, in Bellevue, WA, a suburb of Seattle, Daniel, joined by Heather Roffe and Neri Torres, will host a conversation and introduce the resource.
